| Abstract: | Gusu implies a land rich in fish and rice. First created by He Lu and then further expanded by Fu Chai, the Gusu Terrace, which was so named after a mountain, was most probably located on the top of what is called the Qizi Hill today. The area of Gusu can either he used to refer to Suzhou and the vicinities or refer to the terrace mentioned above exclusively. |
