| 摘 要： | 英语委婉语是英语的重要组成部分 ,本文从语用学角度探讨了其在双语交际过程中的语用功效 ,着重分析了人们使用委婉语的社会心理基础。笔者认为除文化因素外 ,合作原则和场合是在交际中不可忽略的重要因素 ,是辩明委婉语含义和意图的重要途径

| Abstract: | Euphemism is one of the most important components in English. This paper mainly focuses on psychological features of using euphemism and discusses the roles it plays in cross-culture communication from a pragmatic point of view. It holds that the maxims of cooperative behavior contribute a great deal to the interpretative in its intended orientation besides the cultural differences. |
