后东方文化与可持续发展

社会和环境可持续发展与人类文化有着密切的关系。本文论述了21世纪东西方文化的不同特点。西方文化的竞争性与侵略性，促进了西方资本主义的发展，使其至今处于世界科技、政治、经济和军事领先地位；但这种丛林法则，也带来了对社会和环境的严重破坏。与此相反，东方文化如儒学思想等，注重社会和环境的协调发展，这对人类社会与环境可持续发展提供了一种优秀的文化基础。当然，东方文化也有尚待完善之处，本着文化创新的原则，介绍了后东方文化的概念。在新世纪之初，通过文化创新，教育大众，提供社会与环境可持续发展的文化支持，使后东方文化能为人类的进步和和平共处做贡献。

On Post-Eastern Culture and Sustainable Development

Sustainable development of society and environment is closely related to human culture. The different characteristics between eastern culture and western one are discussed. Competitiveness and aggressiveness of western culture help west capitalism to develop, and win western countries an advanced position in science, technology, politics, economy and military affairs. Yet, the jungle rules also bring serious damage to society and environment. On the contrary, eastern culture, such as Confucianism, lays stress on coordinated development between society and environment. Therefore, it provides a kind of excellent cultural base for sustainable development. Without doubt, eastern culture should be consummated continually. It is concluded that post-eastern culture may impel human beings to realize peaceful coexistence and make progress.
