西夏儒学的发展和儒释关系初探

西夏早在立国之初,儒学就有一定的发展,经元昊、谅祚、秉常几代发展,到乾顺和仁孝时,进入兴盛时期,并形成了自己的特色。学校的设立为西夏培养了大量人才。西夏把佛教作为国教加以提倡和崇信,但崇佛并不排儒,二者并行不悖。此时的儒释关系已不是以往历代上彼此间的斗争和儒学排斥佛教的关系,它们更趋于融合和协调。西夏利用儒、释这两大精神支柱共同维护着它的统治。

Development of Confucianism and Confucianism-Buddhism Relationship of the Western Xia Regime

At the initial stage of the establishment of the Western Xia Regime,Confucianism developed to certain degree,entered its boom and shaped its characteristics following the development of several generations from the reign periods of Yuanhao,Liangzuo,Bingchang to those of Qianshun and Renxiao.The opening of schools turned out a great number of talents for the Western Xia Regime.The Western Xia Regime advocated and worshipped Buddhism as its state religion,but it never excluded Confucianism in the process of worshipping Buddhism,instead there was compatibility and correlation between them at the time.Western Xia Regime maintained its rule by taking advantage of Confucianism and Buddhism as the spiritual support.
