This paper explicates the necessity of speeding up the development of higher education for minorities when facing the new century. Meanwhile, it expounds the significance of the suggested measure on the leap-frog development in the minority areas, the realization and safeguard of the equality between nationalities, as well as the comprehensive development of the education for minorities. Also, the paper tries to clear with explanation the various doubts and misgivings about speeding up the development of the higher education for the minorities.
