语言世界观多元论——八论语言的体验观

语言世界观主要研究语言与思维(即认知)、与现实世界和社会世界之间的关系,论述语言在世界观形成中所起的作用.当前,在这一问题上主要有四种基本观点:(1)反映现实论;(2)认知假说论;(3)语言决定论;(4)语言思维二元论.前三种观点具有明显的单向论述的倾向,且这四种观点都没能将社会文化因素考虑进来.为此我们提出了语言世界观多元论,认为现实、认知、语言和文化这四要素之间存在着一个"多元相互作用"的关系,在此框架中提出:现实决定认知,认知决定语言的决定关系;语言影响认知,认知影响现实的影响关系.笔者近年来基于体验哲学和认知语言学的理论重点论述了语言体验性,一方面为语言世界观多元论作了理论铺垫,另一方面语言世界观多元论也为语言体验性提供了证实.

The Pluralism of Linguistic World Outlook:The 8th Paper on Linguistic Embodiment Based on Embodied Philosophy and CL

Linguistic World Outlook is mainly concerned with the relationship between language,cognition,reality and social world,and language roles in the formation of world outlook.At present there are four principal viewpoints:(1) reflection theory;(2) cognition hypothesis;(3) linguistic determinism;(4) dualism of language and thought.The first three are obviously unidirectional,and all of the four viewpoints have no concern about social and cultural factors.Thus,the present paper proposes Pluralism of Linguistic World Outlook,with emphasis on the pluralist interactions between the four factors "reality,culture,cognition,language",from which we can get the determinist relationship,i.e.reality determines cognition,which in turn determines language,and the influential relationship,i.e.language influences cognition,which in turn influences reality.We have recently stressed on the embodiment feature of language based on Embodied Philosophy and Cognitive Linguistics,on the one hand,it has laid a theoretical foundation for Pluralism of Linguistic World Outlook,on the other hand,Pluralism has also offered support for the embodiment feature of language.
