上海外滩——东亚最负盛名的国际公共空间

以上海开埠为标志,外滩率先跨出了传统农村社会的门坎,到1864年前后,已草创了上海城市发展史上的第一个国际性商业社区。从19世纪60年代到90年代中期,在上海这座因中外贸易而兴起的城市里,外滩的人文景观发生了又一次重大的变化,黄浦滩上出现了从未有过的城市社会空间。20世纪20年代是外滩发展的黄金时代,至30年代,外滩最终成为东亚最负盛名的国际公共空间。

The Bund: The Most Famous International Public Space in East Asia

The opening of Shanghai to the world symbolized that the Bund had taken the lead in passing the threshold of the traditional rural society. The first international trade community appeared in Shanghai in about 1864. With the speedy development of the home and foreign trade in Shanghai, the portrait of the Bund had another great change from 1860s to the mid-1890s, since an unprecedented city community space emerged in the Bund. In 1920s, the Bund experienced a golden time. The Bund had developed into the most famous international public space in East Asia till 1930s.
