试论明代的州县吏治

明代州县处于官僚和社会矛盾夹击的两难境地，是吏治腐败的滋生温床。国家政策的逼迫和自身利益的诱导，使催科赋税虐民过甚；馈送贿赂和过客索要，成为填不满的黑洞；进士举监分途，对州县吏治消极影响极大；狱讼的黑暗和吏胥乡官生员对政务的干涉，形成地方政治的严重弊害。明朝之亡，根源在于州县的残暴和贪贿。

The Local Officialdom during the Ming Dynasty

In the Ming dynasty,the local governments became a hotbed of corruption. The policies of the court forced the local officials to collect extra taxes, resulting in the facts that bribery became a black hole that could never be filled and the covetous petty officials manipulated the local administration. Then, the downfall of the Ming Dynasty came from the brutality and bribery of the local governments.
