| Abstract: | In the period of the westernization movement,Li Hongzhang appointed Tang Tingshu,who has a comprador background,to manage the civil enterprise such as Commercial shipping bureau.Li Hongzhang knew his subordinates and assigned them properly,and Tang Tingshu was very practical and responsible.The two men complemented each other,and they made the contribution to the early industrialization of China. |
