Language, Thinking and Semantics

In response to the claim that language distorts reality,thinking,syntax and semantics,this paper argues,based on Jackendoff＇s language concept and Halliday＇s functional semantics,that vocabulary syntax and grammatical metaphor can explain the mutual relations between language,thinking and semantics,that language positively construes or constructs reality through thinking,and that the correct understanding of semantics involves cognition and a knowledge of socio-cultural context.
