西方修辞学视域下的中国时事热词外宣翻译

外宣翻译是一种跨语言、跨文化的修辞行为,中国时事热词外宣翻译要遵循西方修辞学的诸多原则.本文首先对时事热词进行了定义,接下来分析了时事热词、时事新词、特色词和流行语的异同,进而归纳了时事热词外宣翻译的现状与问题;最后,从西方修辞学的视角提出了中国时事热词外宣翻译的三个策略,即:追根溯源,寻找最贴近的对等语;贴近译语受众,释译变通;切合特定语境,保留原文特色.

On international publicity translation to Chinese current affairs buzzwordsfrom the perspective of western rhetoric

The international publicity translation is a rhetorical activity involving cross-language and cross-culture communication.Chinese current affairs buzzwords translation should comply with some western rhetorical principles.First of all,this paper defines and classifies the current affairs buzzwords,and then explores the similarities and differences among current affair buzzwords,neologism,catchwords and Chinese-specific words.Next,it concludes the status and existing problems of Chinese current affairs buzzwords translation.Finally,this paper puts forwards three translation strategies on Chinese current affairs buzzwords,i.e.to trace the origins and to find the closest equivalents;to be close to the target readers,and to adopt interpretive and alternative approaches;to suit the specific context and to maintain the characteristics of source text.
