Mr. Fan Wenlan is not only a Marxist historian, but also a Marxist scholar of Chinese classics. His theory of historiography formed through the compilation of A Concise History of China in the Yan''an period not only guided the development of later Marxist historiography, but also practically answered how Marxists should study the history of Chinese classics, that is, they should adhere to the law of material unity of the world, the principle of seeking truth from facts, and the dialectical thinking, and promote the development of classics through struggles.
