Ecocriticism emerges as a new literary trend in the context of ecological crisis and environmental deterioration.It shows a strong consciousness of crisis,a sense of responsibility and a critical spirit.Its extension to nature indicates the disciplinary turn of literature by addressing the reality.Such a turn can be seen from the following aspects: first,from the study of text to the quest of ontological content;second,from the study of conceptual mode to the concern of reality existence;third,from the hermeneutics of language-centered text to the reading of life-centered text.The disciplinary turn of ecocriticism means to reexamine the western metaphysical tradition and rethink the relationship between man and nature from the perspective of ontological returning.
