沐英镇滇事迹考

一代名臣沐英 ,在明太祖洪武十六年至二十五年奉诏独镇云南期间 ,实施驻军屯田、推行移民垦种并注意兴修水利 ;继续采取机动灵活的手段平息各地变乱活动、立卫置所 ;重建云南府儒学 ,等等 ,不仅为解决明朝驻滇官兵的给养问题、减轻人民的负担以及恢复和发展云南社会经济和文教事业做出了卓越贡献 ,而且为稳定云南社会秩序、维护统一的多民族国家的整体利益、巩固祖国的西南边陲立下了汗马功劳 ,因此备受朝廷依托、人民敬仰。

The Study of Deeds That Mu Ying Guarded Dian

Mu Ying was a famous officer of Ming Dynasty. His duty was to defend Yunnan province in Ming Dynasty from the 16th year to the 25th year of Hongwu (1383-1392). There were mainly three important measures that he had adopted in that period. Firstly, he demanded the army to open up wasteland, moved people from other provinces to Yunnan to reclaim wasteland, and took charge of building irrigation works; secondly, he kept on putting down uprisings and rebellions and establishing Weisuo; and thirdly, he reconstructed the Confucian school of the Prefecture of Yunnan,and so on. The above mentioned measures were advantageous to solve the provision problem of the garrison troops of Yunnan province, to lighten the burden on Yunnan people, and to resume and develop the economy, culture and education of Yunnan province. They also contributed a lot to stabilize the public order of Yunnan province, to safeguard the overall interests the whole of the unitary multi national state and to consolidate southwest China border areas.
