现代与后现代的文化差异——以城市建筑为视角

后现代建筑是对现代主义建筑在全面反思的基础上完成的反叛和超越。它抛弃了后者对功能主义、纯粹主义、标准化和模式化的追求,转而走向复杂、含混、多元、反讽和戏仿等后现代风格。从现代主义向后现代主义的转型绝非仅是美学风格的转型,更是在西方社会由生产主导转向消费主导以及由精英主义转向民粹主义的大背景下实现的文化政治的转型。从建筑领域审视这场现代与后现代之争,有利于我们更好地把握西方社会近百年来的这两种最主要的文化形态。

On the Antagonism Between Modernism and Postmodernism: A Perspective from Urban Architecture

Over a comprehensive examination of the modernist architecture,the postmodern architecture tries to revolt against and surpass the latter.It diverts from the latter’s pursuit for function,purity,standard and model,to the preference for complexity,ambiguity,pluralism,irony and parody.This is less an aesthetic diversion than a transformation of cultural-political strategy under the background that the whole western society is transforming from productivism to consumerism,and from elitism to populism.A study of this antagonism between modernism and postmodernism from an architectural perspective will help us better understand the two cultural patterns dominating the past century.
