| Abstract: | On the basis of carrying on Kant's theory of sublime ,Schiller developed profoundly the idea of sublime in the light of his own philosophy, which embodied the strong spirit of humanism . After Schiller, the aesthetic meaning of sublime gradually disappeared as the philosophy of the rationalism of the West declined. |
