The development of transport infrastructure is important for the economic development. There is a close connection between the spatial distribution of railways and roads and the regional economic development, and the differences in economic development in China well reflect the differences in the spatial distribution of railways and roads. The Government should quicken the construction of the transport infrastructure in central and west China in order to narrow down the differences in economic development in different parts of China and to maintain a balanced regional development.
