历史记忆是一个族群在社会发展进程中形成并逐渐为本群体所共享的文化意识。居住在滇西鹤庆县六合乡境内的白依人是一个彝族支系。作为一个无文字族群,白依人族源神话表现在社会生活中的服饰、乐器、舞蹈、古歌、仪式等方面,这体现了祖先的影响在现代社会中延伸。社会生活是族群历史记忆在世代中展演的舞台。历史记忆在日常场景中通过器物、身体实践和仪式操演的象征性重构,表现出族群试图建立一种与祖先相互关联生活方式的期待。

Performance and Symbolicity of Ancestral Myths: The Baiyi People’s Historical Memory Embodied in the Sacred Objects,Bodily Practices and Ceremonial Performance

The historical memory is a kind of cultural awareness formed in the social development and shared by an ethnic group.The Baiyi people without a written language in Liuhe Township of Heqing County of Yunnan province is a branch of the Yi nationality.Their ancestral myths are presented in their social life in terms of costumes,musical instruments,dances,ancient songs,and ceremonies,which can be regarded as an extension of their ancestral influence in modern society.Social life is the arena for ethnic groups to performance their historical memory in successive generations.The symbolic reconstruction of historical memory presented in sacred objects,bodily practices and ceremonial ceremonies in the daily life shows the expectation of an ethnic group in hope of establishing a lifestyle associated with the ancestors.
