| Abstract: | This article is intended to discuss Lin Yutang's translation of Chinese classic poetry into English based on the principles of textual iconicity in Chinese poetic texts.As for the feasibility of the practice,the author tries to demonstrate it from two aspects,which are the possibility of reproducing iconicity in translation and Lin Yutang's translation theory.In conclusion,the author tries to drive home the point that the poetry translation done by Lin Yutang has achieved the effect of "both spiritual and formal resemblance". |
