Gains and Losses of Logic and Hostory: A Review of Roemer's Marxist Economic Philosophy

J.E.Roemer reworded Marx's theory of exploitation and class by drawing on neo-classical models of economics,developed his general theory of exploitation and class,and proposed an ideal socio-economic structure.He frankly refuted Marx's labor theory of value,tried showing the logic between exploitation and class without appealing to labor theory of value,and theorized a new Marxist economic philosophy.As an analytical economist,he emphasized the modernization of the format of Marxist economics and de-emphasized its characteristic of consistence between logic and history.How J.E.Roemer adhered to and developed Marxist economics is quite particular and worthy of serious considerations.
