中国小说理论对现代性的追索,是在晚清文化启蒙运动的进程中展开的.在这一充满忧患的启蒙语境中,"写实"和"理想"这两种小说观因其价值倾向和观念内涵而显示不同的形态.前者成为中国历史追求启蒙现代性的一种思想表述;后者受西方审美自律论的启示而对启蒙论进行反思,表现为对审美现代性的追求."写实"与"理想"两种小说观的分立,呈现出了现代性在中国现代文学萌端时的多维价值与不同指向.

Rudiments of Modernity in Chinese Literature: Realism and Idealism in Fictional Theory During Late Qing Dynasty and Early ROC Period

Pursuits of modernity in Chinese fictional theory began along with the progress of cultural enlightenment in late Qing Dynasty. In this enlightenment context of anxiety, realism and idealism differed from each other because of their different principles. The former appeared as the conceptual presentation of enlightened modernity in Chinese history, while the latter, influenced by the aesthetic self-disciplinary theory of the western world, as the pursuit of aesthetic modernity. The difference between realism and idealism resulted in the multiple values and principles of Chinese modern literature in its early period.
