梁实秋的古典主义文学理论自成体系.第一,哲学上的人本主义与自然主义的对立引发了文学史上的古典主义与浪漫主义的并峙,以<诗学>为代表的亚里士多德的古典主义美学是正统的理论;第二,文学的定义是"生活的批评",其内质是对人生、历史的透视,具有伦理价值的严肃性;第三,文学的人性首先针对的是由历史现代性激发的"物性"所造成的人文精神沦落,其次才是阶级性问题;第四,文学的创作是心灵的合规则的秩序与活动,它遵从的是文学的纪律;文学批评应注重文学活动的审美自律,而不能过于关注"他律".这一古典主义理论的源点为白璧德的新人文主义.

Liang Shiqiu's theory of classicism is systematic.Firstly,the contrast of humanism and naturalism in philosophy has brought forth the contrast of classicism and romanticism in literature and the classical aesthetics represented by Aristotle's Rhetoric and Poetics is the orthodox.Secondly,the definition of literature is criticism o life,the nature of which is the examination of life and history and is ethically solemn.Thirdly,the human nature of literature primarily aims at the collapse of humanist spirit caused by the material nature inspired by historical modernity and the class nature comes secondary.Fourthly, literary creation is the order and activity of the soul according to certain rules and follows literary discipline and literary criticism should pay attention to the self-discipline rather others.The theory originates in I.Babbitt's Neohumanism.
