本文从潜显理论和语言学的关系入手,着重探讨了该理论移植到语言学中的理论基础.并分别从语音、语法、语汇三个语言子系统论证了潜显理论的语言学基础在于语言的符号性特点,即规约性和任意性的统一.文中对潜层出现的原因和显层的内涵做了简单阐述.尝试着把该理论应用到语言实践中,并在结语提出该理论有某种局限需完善和丰富之.

On the Theory of Potential and Appearance in Linguistics

This article emphatically discusses the theory based on which we transplanted the theory into linguistics from the relationship between the theory of potential and appearance and linguistics. And the author proves that the linguistics base of the potential and appearance theory lies in the language character of sign, that is the union of convention and arbitrariness from phonetic level, grammatical level and lexical level, the three language subsystems. The author simply sets out the reasons of the appearance of potential level and the connotation of appearance level. The author tries to apply the theory to the language practice, and thinks that there are some faults in itself, so we must make it perfect in the end .
