应用型大学建设发展之实践

随着科学技术和社会经济的不断发展,高等教育与社会发展结合更加紧密,出现了为生产领域培养各种一线技术人才的以技术教育为主体的应用性高等教育,与原有以工程教育为主体的应用性高等教育并存,使应用性高等教育的范畴大为延伸。培养“应用性人才”、发展“应用性教育”是高等教育的历史使命,这一使命为“应用型大学”的产生提供了良好的平台和基础。“应用型大学”是对中国高等学校分类方式的一种突破和创新,以人才培养类型和层次作为学校分类的主要依据,将高校分为学术型大学、应用型大学和高等职业院校,改变了原有分类方式导致的类型定位重学术、层次定位层层攀高、学科定位综合求全的局面。应用型大学是新建地方大学众多选择中的现实选择,北京联合大学在建设应用型大学的实践和理论研究过程中,逐步明确了应用型大学的发展之路。

Fulfillment of the Construction and Development of Applied Universities

With the continuous development of technology and social economy,higher education has been combined with social development much more closely.A new kind of applied higher education appears.It focuses on fostering various technical talents for the forefront of production,and its principal part is technical education.It coexists with the original applied higher education which composes mainly of engineering education,and expands the scope of applied higher education greatly.Fostering applied talents and developing applied education are the historical mission of higher education.This mission has provided a favorable platform and foundation for the appearance of applied universities.Applied university is a kind of breakthrough and innovation to the classification of Chinese colleges and universities.The types and levels of fostering talents are the major basis for school classification.According to this basis,colleges and universities are divided as academic universities,applied universities,and vocational colleges.This kind of classification has changed the prospect brought by original classification in which learning,level and comprehensiveness were given too much attention.Constructing applied universities is a practical choice for the new local universities.Beijing Union University has been clarifying its route of developing as an applied university in its process of practicing and theoretical investigation.
