An Analysis to the Western Utilitarianism

Utilitarianism, as a trend of social thoughts, has had a huge impact in the Western world. Regarded as a norm of ethical values, it pursues the greatest happiness of the most people, promoting the development of capitalist economy and politics in the specific historical stage. Similar to other schools of philosophy, however, it has its own limitations despite that some of its theoretical purports are reasonable.
