从英汉动物词语的文化喻义管窥英汉文化的共性与差异

英语和汉语中均存在着大量与动物有关的词语,随着人类社会的发展,动物词语逐渐附加了特有的文化喻义。词语隐喻关系以两个不同事物的相似之处为前提,对隐喻义的理解也就是对喻体和本体之间相似之处的选择,英语和汉语两种文化或同或异的选择,使英汉动物词语隐喻义的关系呈现出不同的表象。

A Glimpse of Cultural Generalities & Differences between English and Chinese as Reflected in Animal Words' Metaphorical Meanings

There are a lot of animal words in English and Chinese. Many of them have gradually gained their own metaphorical meanings with the development of the human society. By comparing and analyzing English and Chinese animal words, this paper probes into these animal words' cultural connotation, aiming at bringing out the cultural generalities and differences between English and Chinese. It will contribute to a better understanding of these two languages, and to cross-cultural communication.
