清前期浙西杭州、湖州府社会、经济和文化发展的三个层次

在目前的明清区域社会史研究中 ,被称为浙西的杭嘉湖地区 ,一般都被当作一个社会、经济和文化均相对发达的统一整体看待。但实际上 ,在其内部 ,特别是其中杭、湖两府的各州县 ,在发展程度上 ,存在着明显的差异。为更好地了解和研究这一地区 ,本文根据州县官缺等第、地理条件、人口密度、绅士密度和市镇数量等标准 ,将清前期的浙西地区划分成中心、中间和边缘三个发展层次。

The Three Levels of Social, Economic and Cultural Development in Hangzhou and Huzhou of Western Zhijiang in the Early Qing Dynasty

In the current research into the social history of the regions in the Ming-Qing Dynasties, the region stretching from Hangzhou, Jianxing to Huzhou in Western Zhijiang is generally regarded as a whole unit with a relatively advanced society, economy and culture. But in reality the different parts of the region, especially those cities and counties in Hangzhou and Huzhou, differ markedly in their speed of development. In order to promote a better understanding of and research into this region ,this paper classifies the Western Zhijiang in the Early Qing Dynasty into the central ,middle and bordering levels of development in the light of the official ranks, geographical conditions, the density of population, the density of the gentry and the number of cities and towns.
