| Abstract: | Alienation is a contradiction between human and nature , human progress and human relations, reason and perception, reality and ideal in human history. Westerners had strong alienation consciousness from the initial stage of civilization. So alienation is an eternal theme in western literature. In 20th century, the consciousness of alienation was depened in every aspect in western modernist literature. |
