A Study of "Nuclear Family" Concept and "Marriage" Definition--Ponder Over Academic History in Respect and Mosuo Marriage System

China Mosuo case ,which is very important to sociologist's research on marriage and kinfolk field, and it has widely attracted scholar's attention .The following writing are translated from an American Chinese sociologist's doctoral dissertation.(Shi Chuangang, America Stanford University, in 1993). Though it is most likely not the author's conclusion , it is a foundation for further research. However, this brief academic history in retrospect can let us have a basic acquaintance to history conditions on the same research fields abroad. The translated text is from the original's two parts of the eighth chapter. The major topic is given by translator and the two part's topics are the original.
