杨荫榆与“女师大风潮”

杨荫榆留美回国后不久就担任了北京女子师范大学校长的职务,成为中国近代历史上第一位女性大学校长,但她在上任不久就爆发了＂女师大风潮＂。＂女师大风潮＂过程可分为爆发、扩大、高潮和余波这样几个阶段。＂女师大风潮＂的爆发与杨荫榆有直接关系,但决不是杨荫榆个人的因素。政治因素即对女师大校长之职的争夺是学潮爆发的根本原因,学生的政治冲动也是诱发学潮的一个重要原因。此外,教员的不作为甚至对学生闹学潮的支持,再加上思想守旧的教育总长张士钊对杨荫榆的支持,所有这些因素都推动了学潮的不断扩大而最终不可收拾。＂反动校长＂绝不是杨荫榆一生的写照,要客观公正地看待杨荫榆,就必须全面地分析女师大事件和全面地了解杨氏的一生,这才是实事求是。

Yang Yinyu and "Female Normal University Movement"

Shortly after Yang Yin-yu has finished her study in the USA, she shoulders the duty of the headmaster of Beijing Female Normal University, which makes her the first female headmaster in modern China. But not long after her taking the position, the ＂Female Normal University Movement＂ breaks out. It can be divided into four stages： outbreak, extend, climax and aftermath. Yang Yin-yu has direct relation to the outbreak of the movement. However, it wasn＇t her personal problem but the fight for the position of the headmaster that was the main cause of the movement. Students＇ political desire is also an important cause. In addition, teachers＇ approval and support to students＇ movement and the support from the conservative minded general of Education Zhang shi zhao all account to the outbreak of the movement and finally make it uncontrollable. ＂Reactionary headmaster＂ is by no means a reflection of Yang Yinyu. To have an objective look on Yang Yinyu, a comprehensive analysis of the movement and Yang＇s life is indispensable.
