"镇墓兽"源流考

本文从全面搜寻古代典籍相关记载入手,考察了战国楚墓出土文物"镇墓兽"的真实名称与身份,认为"镇墓兽"即"坟羊",应为"幽都"主宰,即死亡和毁灭之神,其巫术神话衍生物有"夷羊"、"土伯"等,其原型应为麋鹿,其产生年代不会晚于殷商,为上古墓葬中的厌抑之物.

Tracing the Origin of "the Inviolable Beast Guarding the Tomb"

With evidence acquired by searching records of ancient books and studying the ancient unearthed relics form the tombs of Chu state in Zhou dynasty, this paper proves the "inviolable beast guarding the tomb" is as same as "Fen Yang", which is the master of death and calamity. Furthermore, the former and the later are both have the ramification in sorcery of myth such as "Yi Yang" and " Tu Bai" and so on, whose original model should be elk. The series of gods referred above would not appear later than Shang dynasty, which have the holy power to resist and suppress evil encroaching.
