现代大学的学术责任--读唐纳德·肯尼迪《学术责任》札记

与人们对大学学术自由问题的关注和热中程度相比,目前学术界有关大学学术责任的研究是相对贫乏的。但什么是大学的学术责任,大学应当承担何种学术责任,以及大学、大学教师应当如何履行自己的学术责任,又是目前必须引起重视和急需解决的问题。针对目前大学学术功能的退化和学术不检行为的增多,大学要很好地履行自己的学术责任,就必须在确立学术为本信念,积极参与社会建设,整饬学术道德,完善学术管理制度上有所作为。

Academic Duty of Modern Universities:On Reading The Notes of Academic Duty by Donald Kennedy

As compared with the public passion and concentration on academic freedom of modern universities, the research on academic duty in academic circles is adequately unsubstantial. Importance should, therefore, be attached to the urgent solution of some issues such as what the definition of academic duty is, what academic duty modern universities should undertake, and how universities and teaching faculty fulfill their academic duty. With the further degeneration of academic function of modern universities and the increasing disgraceful academic conduct, modern universities should make efforts to cultivate a sense of taking scholarship as their essential task, actively participate in social construction, rectify academic morality, and optimize academic institutional management, so as to accomplish their academic duty.
