"Everything-as-one" is one of the important ideas of Dao in Zhuangzi,implying the state of absorbing anything and everything and incorporating things of diverse nature based upon the fact that this connotation can be deduced from its graphemes and that it appears time and again in the literary works of the pre-Qin period and the Western and the Eastern Dynasty.Zhuang Tzu has created not only certain images including the Mountain God,the Sea God and the abstract God,but also a few spectacular and adventurous scenes or plots,thus giving prominence to the rational elements and the aesthetic denotations of the idea so as to literarize and artisticize philosophical ideas.
