可持续发展作为一个理论体系已逐步向社会、经济等各个领域渗透，高校图书馆也应坚持可持续发展观。可持续发展观要求高校图书馆正确定位、科学管理、合理保存和利用信息资源并做到资源共享、满足用户信息需求。高校图书馆要实现可持续发展必须做到以下几点：管理创新；加强计算机网络和数据库建设；诚实守信，全心全意为读者服务；以人为本，开发人力资源。

An Analysis of the Sustainable Development of University Libraries in the 21st Century

As a theory,the concept of sustainable development has been widely accepted in the 21st century.It should also be adopted into the management of university libraries.This concept requires the library of a right orientation,scientific management and reasonable storage,use and share of information resources to satisfy the needs of all the users.The following steps should be taken to achieve sustainable development: making innovations in management,strengthening the construction of the computer network and the data-base,serving the readers faithfully and warmheartedly and being people oriented in exploiting the human resources.
