晚清时期西北地区慈善事业述评

晚清时期是西北地区慈善事业发展的重要时期,常态慈善和灾荒救济作为传统慈善的延续和发展,仍然是这一时期慈善事业发展的主流。教会慈善的传入为该地区传统慈善事业发展注入了一股"新鲜血液",客观上推动了这一时期慈善事业的近代化转型。尽管西北地区慈善事业的发展明显滞后于同时期京津地区和江南地区,但它在缓解社会矛盾、稳定社会秩序方面,仍然起到"安全网"的作用。

The review of Northwestern China charities in late Qing Dynasty

It is a very important period for the development of Northwestern China charities in the late Qing Dynasty.The routine charities and famine relief were the continuance and development of the traditional charities,and they were still the mainstream of the charities development in this period.The incoming of church charity injected fresh blood into the traditional charities,and it promoted the charity’s modernization transformation by objective.Though the development of Northwestern China charities lagged behind the Beijing-Tianjin region and the southeast region of China,it still worked on maintaining social stability as a safety net.
