《中日修好条规》是近代中国第一个平等的建交条约

The Sino-Japanese Provisions of Cordial Relations, which was signed in 1871, is an equal treaty based on the voluntary consultations and the balanced rights and obligations, which evidently stipulates the mutual non-aggression of territories and mutual non-interference of inner state affairs. The Sino-Japanese Provisions of Cordial Relations is not only the first treaty in the history of Sino-Japanese relation, butalso the first equal treaty to establish diplomatic relations in modern China. The signature and the fate of it declare publicly to the offspring: the equal diplomatic association is the necessity of history and the prerequisite of development; power and force cannot solve the problems between nations; the ideology of powerful national strengths, peace and sincerity are much more important than the equality of the treaty itself.
