从文学角度论“文化负载词汇”的汉译英

各民族在长期的生活和实践中,由于生活环境、意识形态、宗教信仰、风俗习惯以及文学艺术传统等的差异,形成了一些本民族语言中特有的、反映本民族文化特质的词汇,即文化负载词汇.在翻译文化负载词汇的过程中,译者应尽可能地展示原作的风貌,最大限度地追求源语与目的语"最贴近的对等".至于具体的翻译方法,应以异化的翻译辅以各种补偿手段(如加注)较好.

On Translation of Culturally-loaded Words of Literary Significance

In peoples' long-term practice and life, because of differences in living environments, ideologies, religious beliefs, customs, and literary, artistic traditions, some distinctive and unique lexical terms in a language and the culturally-loaded words have been formed, which essentially reflect the culture it represents. In translating culturally-loaded words, the translator is supposed to spare no efforts to unfold the original picture of the source text in pursuit of "the closest equivalence" between the source language and the target language. With regards to the specific translating methods, it is advisible to give priority to foreignization with diverse compensation means at the same time.
