Abstract:This paper, based on Relevance Theory, Politeness Principle and Contextual Configuration theory, examines pragmatic characteristics and pragmatic principles of business English and carries out pragmatic analyses of examples of English business correspondence and international business negotiation. It aims at awakening teachers of business English as well as business professionals to the significance of Relevance Principle and Politeness Principle in terms of guiding teaching practices and practical business communication.
