“Literati on Politics”: Realization, Inheritance and Transcendence of Young Mao Zedong

In order to realize their political aspiration,bourgeois literati in modern China always insisted on the concept and tradition of "literati on politics" and "rewarding country through remarks".On the basis of these ideas,they actively involved the mass media and endeavoured to reveal thoughts such as political reform,and democratic republic.This paper analyzes the relations and differences of Young Mao Zedong,who cared for his country and people and determined to reform society,and the modern bourgeois scholars who "talked about politics through running a newspaper" or "participated in politics through newspapers".It draws a conclusion that although deeply influenced by modern bourgeois literati "literati on politics",Young Mao Zedong surpassed them in consciousness,level of awareness,and value orientation.
