语境理论研究对语言教学的启示

语言理论发展经过结构主义———功能主义———交际理论三个发展时期,各个理论对语境的理解是不同的。结构主义的局限性之一就是它没有充分认识到语境在理解语言过程中的重要性。功能主义在强调语言功能与语境意义的同时,却忽视了形式的作用。交际理论既重视语言功能又重视语言形式。为了培养学生的交际能力,教师需要具备新的教学理念。

The Implications of Context Theories in Language Teaching

Linguistic theories went through three stages:structural view,functional view,and interactional view,while each stage has its unique understanding of the term"context".One of the weaknesses of structural view lies in its inadequate attention to the importance of context in the process of understanding language.Functional view focuses on the function of language and meaning of context,but neglects the importance of form.Communicative Language Teaching pays equal attention to language function and language form.In order to develop the students'communicative competence,teachers should hold new beliefs towards language teaching.
