Diligent Practice of Asceticism Shown by Qiu Chuji in His Ci Related with Taoism

By referring to literature concerning his life story and religious activities,this paper studies Qiu chuji's diligent practice of asceticism shown in his ci related with Taoism and draws a conclusion that the thought expressed in his ci mainly concerns things about becoming an immortal,perfecting one's religious nature,involving in social activities,and the unification of Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism,etc.Those ci about engaging oneself in social activities good for the people mainly reflect Qiu Chuji's doings and Taoist sacrificial ceremonies and worships,and those about his daily life show strict principles and rules of the Quanzhen Taoist School.
