语篇水平上的大学英语阅读教学

在听、说、读、写、译五项语言技能中 ,阅读技能居于首位 ,然而受传统阅读教学理论的影响 ,大学英语阅读教学仍然停留在句子分析的水平上 ,教学效果不甚令人满意 ,学生的阅读理解能力和交际能力比较低下。语言学家认为 ,阅读不仅仅是识别和理解字母、单词和句子 ,而是要获取整个段落或整篇文章的信息。即从书面语言材料中获取尽可能多的信息。因此 ,阅读教学应是语篇水平上的教学 ,阅读教学的目的是提高学生语篇水平上的理解能力和交际能力。

Teaching Reading at Discourse Level

Among the five language skills,reading comes first.However,the teaching of reading in China is still conducted at sentence level,which makes the teaching most frustrating.Linguists hold that reading is far from recognizing and understanding letters,words and sentence,but to obtain as much information of the whole reading text as possible.Accordingly,the teaching of reading should be based on discourse level and aimed at improving both reading comprehension and communicative ability of the students at discourse level.
