摘    要:《老子》二十七章提出了“善数 ,不用筹策”的数学命题 ,确定其具体内容需要进一步的资料。通过考察 ,发现其四十二章与此有关。以“三物”表示“三”或以“万物”表示“万”应为古数学的一种用法 ,说明《老子》时期出现了不用算筹的计算 ;进一步可以认为 ,此为古代进位制的一种表示方法 ,而在“万物负阴而抱阳”一句中涉及了二进制计算

Abstract:He who is good at calculating doesn*st use arithmetic rods" is a mathematical thesis of ancient China, derived from the 27th chapter of Lao Zi. To know its concrete scientific content needs a farther material from Lao Zi. After a careful investigation, it is detected that its 42nd chapter is related to the subject. In the chapter, Lao Zi used "three things" or "all things" to depict the number "three" or "many", which is thought to be a usage of ancient mathematics. The usage shows there appeared a type of calculation not using arithmetic rods in the time of Lao Zi. At the same time, the usage is deemed an ancient method to express counting systems, and in the phase that "all things connotes yin and yang", an algorithm of binary system is involved.
