A Study of the Australian Aboriginal Novel Wild Cat Falling from the Perspective of Postcolonialism

Wild Cat Falling, the first Australian aboriginal novel written by Mudrooroo, an Australian aboriginal writer, depicts the life of a young aboriginal man~s solitude, disillusionment and escapism in the white-dominated Australian soci- ety. A study of the novel from the perspective of postcolonialism reveals that Mudrooroo attempts not only to discuss the social identity of Australian half-bred aboriginals and the significance of aboriginal cultural inheritance but also to destroy the stability of colonial discourse and deconstruct the European culture hegemony by mimicking European literary form, language and postmodern writing techniques.
