高等教育的发展与大学的使命

文章针对大学扩招与学生就业问题,分析了我国高等教育的发展现状、趋势以及我国大学目前面临的问题,提出了如何正确看待我国大众化高等教育应对大众化教育阶段新问题的3个观点:1.高校在迅速实现高等教育大众化过程中承受着巨大压力,功不可没;2.高等教育从精英教育阶段过渡到大众化教育阶段,不仅仅是量的增长,也是质的变化,其特点是多样化;3.大众化高等教育推动下的传统“就业观”和“知识产业”问题受到冲击,值得重新审视。

The Development of Higher Education and the Responsibility of Chinese Universities and Colleges

In consideration of the problems caused by the expanding enrollment of students in Chinese universities and colleges and the difficulties in job hunting after their graduation, this paper discusses the present development, trends and urgent problems of Chinese higher education. It delivers three viewpoints on how to correctly deal with the new problems of Chinese mass higher education in the phase of the popularizing of high education. Firstly, universities and colleges have accomplished much under the great pressure in the course of popularizing high education. Secondly, the higher education not only increases in quantity but also in quality in the transition from the elite to the mass with the characteristic of diversification. Thirdly, the traditional view of employment and intellective production should be reconsidered in the circumstance of mass higher education.
