民国邮政与民间信局的关系析论——以20世纪30年代的厦门为中心

大清邮政诞生后,为维护邮权不断挤压民间信局。民国时期,在国家邮政的强力扩张下,民信局和批信局采用走私方式与邮局展开竞争,邮局则以缉私来捍卫国家邮权和邮政利益。民间信局的走私和邮政的缉私斗争,反映了国家邮政与民间信局关系的一个侧面。邮政对民间信局的整合,是中国社会向近代转型过程中,国家权力对全社会的控制由弱而强的一个转变。

The Relationship Between National Post Office and Civil Post Organizations in the Republic of China

For protecting its rights, the modern national post office, after its establishment, continually suppressed the traditional civil post organizations, such as Min-hsin-chu and Pi-hsin-chu. Facing the powerful expansion of official post office, the civil ones had to fight for interests by smuggle, and accordingly the post office took action to suppress them. The conflict between them reflected one side of their relations, indicating that the national power's controlling of the civil society became stronger and stronger in the process of Chinese transformation toward the modern society.
