试论中国古代的大学与文化

在关注传统文化对现代高等教育影响的基础上 ,对高等教育与文化的本原联系作了初步探讨。认为中国最初的大学乃是一种文化机构 ,高等教育是逐渐从文化事业中分离出来的 ;中古时期 ,文化在大学与政治之间发挥着中介作用 ;至近代 ,文化创造的火焰又往往首先在大学中燃起 ;但无论何时 ,高等教育都既是文化的承载者 ,又是文化的推动者。全面深入地了解高等教育与文化之间的本质联系 ,是我们做好进一步研究工作的基础

On University and Culture in Ancient China

This thesis, based on considerations of the influences of traditional culture on modern higher education, is a tentative study on the relationship between higher education and the origins of culture. The author holds that the university is a unit of cultural institution and higher education is separated from culture gradually. In the middle period of human history, culture played a role of time, the fire of cultural creation was kindled in universities. However, not matter what the historical period is, higher education is both the bearer and the stimulator of culture. Thus, a comprehensive understanding of this essential relationship between higher education and culture will lay a stable basis for our further studies.
