| Abstract: | In the paper are depicted the role setting and basic quality requirements of Presidents of Famous Universities both at home and abroad and a comparative study is made regarding their selection conditions, selection system, management system and authorities of presidents. With the re adjustment of the structure of functions and powers in the reform of the management system of China's famous universities, three principles, i.e., adequate separation of administrative and academic powers, adequate downward movement of power center and adequate decentralization of powers are presented. |
