从文化意象的归化英译看翻译与权力的关系

本文从汉语文化意象在归化英译中的丢失与歪曲着手，结合翻译与文化交流的关系以及韦努蒂（Venuti）、阿萨德（Asad）等人关于翻译与权力的关系的论述，分析指出相对于英语文化的归化是对强势文化的妥协；汉英文化的交流并不是一种平等的交流；翻译的本质是服务于权力。并倡导异化翻译，尽可能保留具有丰富文化内涵的汉语文化意象。

The Relationship Between Translation and power as Seen in the Light of the Familiarization of Chinese Cultural lmages

The paper analyzes the loss and distortion of Chinese cultural images in the translating method of familiarization. Based on the relationship of translation and cultural communication, and the relationship of translation and power, which is presented by Lawrence Venuti and Talal Asad, it concludes that the familiarizing translation is a surrender toward the more powerful culture and that the intercultural communication of Chinese and English is not balanced; the essence of translating is to serve power. It proposes that the translating method of foreignization should be used as more as possible so as to maintain Chinese cultural images which carry rich cultural connotations.
