汉语借词音译的优选论分析——以增音为例

文章从音系和语音感知的角度分析汉语中英语人名的音译过程,研究发现:为了符合汉语的音节结构特点,音译过程采用了增音、删音和变音方式,且尤以增音为主;所添元音呈现一定的语音规律,即辅音同化、元音和谐和元音默认。增音方式体现了音节的“最大保留”原则,而增音的种类符合人类的语音感知能力。优选理论很好地将这两者相结合,通过标记性制约条件和忠实性制约条件的交互作用,形式化地阐述整个增音过程。

Epenthesis in Transliteration of Mandarin Loanword:An Optimality-Theoretical Account

This paper looks into the transliteration of Mandarin loanwords of English person names from both phonological and perceptual perspectives and concludes that such strategies as epenthesis, deletion and feature change are employed to satisfy Mandarin phonology, with epenthesis being the major strategy, and that epenthesis involves consonant assimilation, vowel harmony and default vowel. Epenthesis strategy follows "preserving maximally"principle, and inserted vowel types reflect human beings'perceptual ability. Optimality theory incorporates the two aspects and schematically accounts for them through the interactionbetween faithfulness and markedness constraints.
